Frasers Group has acquired York Designer Outlet and East Midlands Designer Outlet for an undisclosed sum, continuing the group’s retail acquisition spree.
York Designer Outlet spans 250,000 sq ft and is home to 120 UK and international brands, while the 170,000 sq ft East Midlands Designer Outlet is home to more than 65 designer brands.
Together the designer outlets have an annual footfall of almost 7.8 million visitors.
“These strategic acquisitions reinforce our vision, leveraging strong partnerships with leading global brands to unlock mutual value – supporting their outlet strategies while driving growth,” said chief executive Michael Murray.
“Today, we own over one fifth of the UK outlet market and have a clear ambition to grow our share further.”
The latest deals add to the group’s growing portfolio mix following a series of acquisitions, including last November’s £220m deal to buy the 1.1m sq ft Braehead Shopping Centre in Glasgow from SGS UK.
In 2024, the group acquired Princesshay Shopping Centre in Exeter, Fremlin Walk in Maidstone, St Nicholas Arcades in Lancaster and the Frenchgate centre in Doncaster.
Those deals followed the acquisitions of The Mall in Luton and the Overgate Centre in Dundee in 2023.
Frasers was advised by James Keany, executive director, head of national agency, at CBRE.
