Housebuilder Vistry Group has acquired a site in Worcester for an undisclosed sum with plans to develop 103 affordable homes.

Vistry has already forward sold all the properties at the Oldbury Road site to Bromford Flagship LiveWest, an affordable homes provider which brings forward over 3,000 homes a year.

The site is part of the Worcester West urban extension, which is set to provide 1,400 homes. Construction work is expected to begin next month.

Supriya Ray, regional managing director of Vistry Cotswolds, said: “By working in partnership with Bromford, this new site will provide a significant number of affordable homes, giving local people a range of housing choice.

“We have already successfully delivered many hundreds of new mixed-tenure homes together, and Oldbury Road builds on that long-term relationship.”

Catherine Jarrett, regional director at Bromford Flagship LiveWest, added: “At a time when demand for affordable housing has never been greater, schemes like Oldbury Road show what’s possible when strong partners come together with a shared ambition.

“By combining our scale with local delivery, we can bring forward quality homes that respond to what people and places need. This builds on a proven relationship and reflects our long-term commitment to investing in homes and playing a leading role in delivering the country’s growth.”

Last week, Vistry secured a resolution to grant planning permission for 780 mixed-tenure homes at North Weald Bassett in Essex, in partnership with Epping Forest District Council.
