GXO Logistics has agreed to transfer six grocery logistics sites totalling more than 2m sq ft to Dubai-based port operator DP World, to satisfy regulatory conditions for the approval of the logistics firm’s 2024 acquisition of Wincanton.

The sites, five in England and one in Northern Ireland, serve Asda, Sainsbury’s and the Co-op and will be transferred to DP World in September for an undisclosed sum.
Divestment of the sites was a condition set by the Competition and Markets Authority when it approved GXO’s Wincanton takeover.
More than 2,000 employees will join DP World’s UK operations. GXO will retain transport operations at the sites.
