NewRiver REIT has secured four new lettings at The Gyle Shopping Centre in Edinburgh to Danish retailer Søstrene Grene, coffee shop chain Black Sheep Coffee, cosmetics retailer Rituals and jewellery brand Nomination.

Søstrene Grene has taken the 4,750 sq ft former Gap unit on the ground floor, while Black Sheep Coffee will occupy a 2,335 sq ft unit with external seating, in the same part of the shopping centre.
Rituals has taken a 2,309 sq ft unit, with an additional 1,163 sq ft mezzanine floor, while Nomination has agreed to take a 464 sq ft unit.

“With new brands joining an already strong line-up, increasing footfall and continued commitment from existing occupiers, The Gyle is very much reinforcing its position as one of Edinburgh’s leading retail destinations.”
The new occupiers join existing brands that have moved to The Gyle in the past year including The Entertainer, Grapetree, Nando’s and Lovisa. Boots, Starbucks and Pandora are among other brands to have renewed their leases at The Gyle.
Footfall at The Gyle has increased consistently year on year, up 4% last year on 2024, while so far this year footfall is up 3.8% on last year.
Stuart Moncur, head of national retail at Savills, which advised on the deals, added: “These four lettings are important deals for The Gyle, which is seeing significant success. Footfall is increasing and the centre continues to attract high-quality brands, both as new occupiers and existing tenants choosing to extend their leases.”
The shopping centre was acquired as part of NewRiver’s 2024 takeover of Capital & Regional.
