Deputy CFO Richard Shaw will become interim CFO while the board undertakes a formal recruitment process to identify a permanent successor.

Raja will step down as CFO and a director of Hammerson on 12 August, following publication of the company’s half-year results.

Across a career spanning four decades, he has spent 15 years as a listed company CFO including five years as Hammerson CFO.

“Himanshu has been an outstanding CFO over that period, leaving the group well placed for the next phase of growth,” said Hammerson chief executive Rob Wilkinson.

“I would like to personally thank him for his support and continued commitment to Hammerson’s success.”

Raja said: “When I look back at my time at Hammerson, what stands out for me is the amazing people and the phenomenal progress we have made together. I’m sincerely grateful to my colleagues, the executive team and the board for their support throughout my time here.

“As I retire, I leave with genuine confidence in the future of the business and its continued success.”

Raja will remain employed by the company for the next 12 months to assist with an orderly transition.

Hammerson chair Robert Noel said: “Over the past five years, Himanshu has been a valued member of the Hammerson executive team and board, supporting the company’s turnaround and transformation and helping to strengthen Hammerson’s financial position.”
