Allsop raised £40m from the sale of 52 lots at its first commercial auction of the year on 11 February, achieving an 87% success rate and indicating a “positive uptick in buyer sentiment” at the start of 2026, the firm said.

A total of 11 properties sold for more than £1m, with six crossing the £2m mark.

The highest-valued lot was a 41,000 sq ft leasehold retail and leisure asset on a prominent island site in Sheffield’s city centre, let to tenants including Wagamama, Pho, and Zizzi, which sold for £4.3m.

In Liverpool, a parade of nine shops, offices and four self‑contained flats sold for more than £2.8m.

Meanwhile, a 16,353 sq ft, town‑centre lot in Maidstone, Kent including a restaurant, hairdresser and 13 flats fetched £2.55m; while a retail, warehouse and trade counter in Eastbourne let to UK Plumbing Supplies on a new 10‑year lease sold for £2.42m.

Finally, in Hartlepool,  a modern supermarket let to Farmfoods went under the hammer for £1.35m.

Alex Neil, commercial auction partner at Allsop, said: “The result of our February sale indicates a positive uptick in buyer sentiment as we kick off the 2026 auction cycle.

“Competitive bidding on the day led to some very strong prices being achieved. This positive result bodes well for the remainder of the year where we believe confidence will improve further still.”
