Zoopla has acquired online residential property portal newhomesforsale.co.uk to bolster its position in the housing sales market.

The platform, acquired for an undisclosed sum, was founded in 1998 and caters to more than 200 developer customers. It currently supports around 2,500 active developments and generates some 170,000 leads a year for housebuilders.

Following completion of the acquisition, the portal will continue to operate as a standalone brand, retaining its existing leadership team.

This comes after Zoopla recently signed strategic partnerships with major developers including Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon Homes.

According to Paul Whitehead, chief executive of Zoopla, the platform has built a “respected and highly specialised business that consistently delivers high-intent leads, strong conversion rates and a strong ROI [return on investment] for homebuilders”.

“Combined with Zoopla’s proprietary audiences and AI-driven product innovation, we are well positioned to deliver a stronger and more efficient new homes marketing proposition for developers of all sizes,” he added.

“This acquisition is a natural next step in our strategy. Our recent partnerships with Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon demonstrate the progress we have made and the value we deliver. The addition of newhomesforsale.co.uk will strengthen our offer and deepen our relationships with homebuilders across the UK.”

Mark Hincks, director of newhomesforsale.co.uk, said: “Our focus has always been to connect developers with high-intent buyers and deliver a clear return on marketing investment.

“Joining Zoopla unlocks audience data, insights and innovation that will allow us to deliver even more value for our customers. Together, we can accelerate growth and support homebuilders with stronger sales pipelines and better commercial outcomes.”
