Strettons has raised £11.7m at its 19 February national property auction, achieving an 80% success rate.

The highest price on the day was achieved for 183-185 Hoe Street in Walthamstow, east London, a freehold commercial investment let to Foxtons, which went under the hammer for £1.365m against a guide price of £1m.
Residential properties in the capital also attracted strong interest from buyers. In Ilford, a freehold vacant three-bedroom terraced house on Holmwood Road sold for £464,000, significantly above its £320,000 guide price.
Meanwhile, in Barking, a freehold property on Fanshawe Avenue, arranged as two flats and producing £43,200 a year in rental income, sold for £436,000, reflecting a gross yield of approximately 9.9%.
A leasehold flat within Gatsby Apartments on Gunthorpe Street in Tower Hamlets sold for £395,000; while a property on York Road in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, with planning permission for conversion into two flats, achieved £372,000.
Another highlight was a pair of grade II-listed red telephone boxes in Canterbury, Kent, which attracted strong interest from bidders following widespread media coverage ahead of the sale. Guided at £14,000, they sold for £17,000, demonstrating their potential to be changed for a range of commercial uses.

“The Canterbury telephone boxes were a great example of the diversity of properties that auctions bring to the market. Unique lots like this often capture the imagination of bidders and it was pleasing to see them sell above guide.”
