UK real estate investor CLI Dartriver has bought the freehold of the Radisson Blu hotel in Leicester Square for an undisclosed price from subsidiaries of Starwood Capital Group, on behalf of a private family office.

The 127-room hotel has a restaurant, bar and six meeting rooms, including the Skyline Penthouse.

CBRE, which advised Dartriver on the acquisition, said Leicester Square attracts over 2.5 million visitors each week, making it one of the busiest pedestrian areas in the UK.

Ellina Kraynik, a director in CBRE’s UK hotels team, said: “This asset aligns to a number of our client’s requirements, most notably the opportunity to own a prime, freehold hotel in a central London location that holds long-term appeal.

“Completing the transaction further demonstrates our intentional approach and ability to act quickly to secure the best outcome.”

CMS acted as lead legal counsel to the buyer.
