Hancock joins after a 13-year stint at Bruntwood SciTech, where he served as head of commercial across the city centre portfolio, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the commercial success of the firm’s 40-building Manchester city centre portfolio across all assets and product lines.
He has worked on a number of major schemes including Threadworks, a cluster of four buildings on Portland Street totalling 120,000 sq ft; the leasing of the £35m retrofit of Pall Mall; and the £13m refurbishment of Kings House.
In his new role, Hancock will work on some of Manchester’s most high-profile instructions, including Republic at Mayfield, Eden, Rylands and Quoin, while continuing to advise on leasing the existing Bruntwood SciTech portfolio.
Andrew Cowell, transaction and asset management lead at OBI, said: “Over the past five years, we have leased in excess of 2.1m sq ft, making OBI Manchester’s most active leasing consultant.
“Josh’s experience and expertise in the Manchester market will undoubtedly support this growth and ensure we continue to provide our clients with a premium service.”
Hancock added: “What attracts me to OBI at this stage in my career is the opportunity to join a well-established market-leading consultancy that has an impressive portfolio of instructions in Manchester. Having followed OBI’s growth closely and given that I’ve worked with the team on the majority of the Bruntwood portfolio, I know I’m joining a successful, fast-paced and dynamic business.
“OBI’s involvement in both landmark new builds and high-end refurbishments is a major draw for me, and I look forward to contributing to the continued growth of the business.”
