Hammersmith and Fulham Council this week gave the green light for the scheme, which spans two London boroughs, after Kensington and Chelsea granted permission in December.
Designed by PRP Architects, the development will include 65 social rent extra care homes and 53 social rent general needs homes, alongside 156 private homes.
Kensington and Chelsea council intends to buy the affordable homes and enter into long-term lease arrangements for the workspace and community centre.
Mount Anvil will be responsible for the construction, funding and sale of all homes on the development.
Existing underused commercial buildings on the site will be replaced with almost 22,000 sq ft of flexible commercial space, including a community centre, commercial units and affordable workspace.
“With new housing, commercial and community facilities, and a significant greening of the site, especially along Chelsea Creek, we have worked with the council to create a regenerative development that will deliver much needed new housing in London,” said Marcus Bate, partnerships, planning, communities and sustainability director at Mount Anvil.
“The extra care homes will address a distinct local need and give the residents living in them independence and an enhanced quality of life, whilst the general needs social rent homes will provide much needed high-quality and genuinely affordable spaces for families in both boroughs.”
Emma Will, lead member for property at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, added: “This is a key moment for the scheme and for our wider plans to transform this part of the riverside together with our residents, while respecting Chelsea’s character.”
