Global commercial real estate adviser Avison Young has appointed Kathryn Gardner as a director in its building and project consultancy team in Newcastle.

Kathryn Gardner
She joins from K2 Consultancy, where she was responsible for leading and growing the North East business.
Her 25 years of experience include managing high-profile projects worth up to £5bn across sectors including data centres, manufacturing, highways and rail.
Prior to her role at K2, Gardner was a regional director at AtkinsRealis, acting as client lead for the Teesworks programme.
Gordon Hewling, principal and managing director, Newcastle building and project consultancy at Avison Young, said: “Kathryn’s arrival strengthens our Newcastle team at an important moment for the region. Her track record in delivering complex, high-value programmes, including major schemes in Teesside, brings an additional depth of expertise to our building and project consultancy team.
“With her understanding of the opportunities emerging across the North East, and her decades of experience in the region, I’m confident that she will play a central role in helping clients realise long-term value from their projects.”
Gardner added: “Having spent much of my career working on significant infrastructure programmes across Teesside, the wider North East region and nationally, I’m eager to apply that experience and support Avison Young’s growing pipeline of public and private sector work.
“It’s a really exciting time for the North East, with huge potential on the horizon, and I’m looking forward to collaborating with the team, and our clients and partners, to drive forward schemes that will shape the next phase of regional growth.”
