Travelodge has exchanged contracts to develop a 132-room hotel in Abbey Wood, south-east London.

The new six-storey Travelodge will form part of the regeneration of The Abbey Arms Pub, which is being carried out in partnership with Uplift Developments.
The hotel will be on Wilton Road opposite Abbey Wood station on the Elizabeth Line, providing “excellent transport links, with direct services into Canary Wharf in 10 minutes, Liverpool Street in 16 minutes and Bond Street in 23 minutes,” according to Tony O’Brien, UK development director at Travelodge.
O’Brien added: “This new hotel will provide high-quality, great-value accommodation for business and leisure travellers visiting the local area and central London. Travelodge has made a long-term commitment and looks forward to creating new opportunities for the local community.”
Jasdeep Mann, director of Uplift Developments said: “As a local resident who grew up in Greenwich borough, I am delighted we have been able to agree on terms with the first national brand hotel in Abbey Wood. We hope this marks the beginning of the promised regeneration of Wilton Road.”
Travelodge now operates over 600 hotels throughout the UK, with a requirement to open more than 300 additional locations.
