Urban Outfitters has signed for a new store at Sheffield City Council’s flagship Heart of the City regeneration project.

The fashion retailer has agreed a lease for 8,500 sq ft of retail space at the 1.5m sq ft development, which has transformed Sheffield city centre into a concentration of shops, bars, cafés, restaurants, experiences, apartments, townhouses and more than 330,000 sq ft of occupied workspace.
Urban Outfitters joins occupiers including Bird & Blend, Fjällräven, Lucy & Yak, Søstrene Grene, Superdry and Weekend Offender at the scheme.
Sean McClean, director of regeneration and development at Sheffield City Council, said: “It is great to see the momentum surrounding our Heart of the City project shows no signs of slowing down, as we see another retailer secured to move into the development.”
Laurence Jones, portfolio director at RivingtonHark, the scheme’s asset manager, added: “With international brands such as Urban Outfitters queuing to become part of Heart of the City, complemented by cutting-edge regional and independent brands, we look forward to announcing more new arrivals as we continue to transform the city centre.”
