Galliard Homes has secured planning permission for a 1,500-home residential scheme in Greenwich, south London, in partnership with City Developments Limited (CDL).
The scheme at Morden Wharf secured hybrid planning permission in 2022 with a 35% provision for affordable housing, but this was later reduced to 10% and the scheme was referred back the council. The updated plans now include a 20% affordable housing provision.
The joint venture acquired the 13.8-acre site in late 2023 and now plans to develop 11 blocks, the tallest of which will be 35 storeys high.
The plans also include more than 186,300 sq ft of commercial floorspace, car and cycle parking, public realm and open space.
In September 2021, when the London Borough of Greenwich resolved to grant permission for the scheme to Morden College and the then U+I (prior to its £190m acquisition by Landsec), the JV put the project’s gross development value at £770m.
