The firm is expected to relocate to the City of London building towards the end of the year, taking up space across the sixth and seventh floors on a new 15-year lease.

City Developments bought the 211,000 sq ft building for £183m from Hermes Investment Management and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board in 2018.

A spokesperson for the owner said the company is continuing to invest in its London portfolio and is looking to refurbish the reception and arrival space at the property, with works scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2026.

Ben Ridgwell, asset management director UK at City Developments, said: We are delighted to welcome Brown & Brown to Aldgate House and look forward to a long, fruitful partnership.

“This transaction underlines the continued demand for well-located, high-quality office space and reflects our ongoing confidence in the London office market. Our planned reception upgrade will further enhance the occupier experience and reinforce the building’s long-term appeal.”

David Collis, head of real estate at Brown & Brown, added: “Aldgate House provides a high-quality, well-connected workplace that supports both our people and our long-term growth ambitions in London.”

Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE were jointly appointed as leasing agents for Aldgate House, while Newton Perkins acted on behalf of the occupier.
