ME Asset Management has launched a specialist investment platform targeting assets affected by building safety and remediation challenges.

The platform will combine capital with in-house remediation delivery to target assets with strong underlying income where remediation works or technical complexity have created pricing dislocation.
ME Asset Management’s initial focus is on hotels and student accommodation, but it remains open to opportunities in other sectors.
Earlier this year, the platform snapped up its first asset: a 132-key Premier Inn hotel in Swansea, acquired through its subsidiary ME Swansea.
The firm is reviewing a pipeline of similar opportunities across the UK, where remediation requirements or regulatory complexity have constrained traditional financing despite resilient income.
“Many investors have stepped back from assets affected by building safety and remediation challenges, even where the underlying income is resilient,” said Verender Badial, chief executive of ME Asset Management.
“We see that complexity as an opportunity for disciplined capital – particularly where combining real estate finance expertise with delivery capability gives far greater clarity on cost, timing and execution. By approaching these situations with that level of certainty, we are able to unlock value in assets where others see risk and uncertainty.”
The platform has strong capital backing from its directors and is backed by the founders of GRE Capital, a specialist real estate funding business, alongside the founders of Fleetwood Architectural Aluminium, a recladding contractor.
